    No worries. I appreciate you too. Lol. I’ve seen a few different ways but the pictures Joe Blow sent were great. I’m definitely going to use that method.

    My hood is all done. I just have to go pick it up. I’m picking it up a New England Dragway next Sunday. IMG_2261.jpeg

    Who did the louvers? I like the salt flat style.

    My tach wasn’t showing the correct RPM and I was told I had a .500 reducer on it. I took it off and success. The cable was a pain to get on so I’m guessing that’s why the 90degree reducer was on there. IMG_0059.jpeg IMG_0064.jpeg IMG_0063.jpeg

    @Stephen Barrett -

    Since you're in New Hampshire and @GregCT. is in Connecticut . . . I'm guessing Greg had purchased this *****in' Nailhead-powered Deuce 5wd from someone in California ??? . . . :

    California Plate (ADV 107).jpg
    . . . I only ask because the car looks somewhat familiar to me.

    It did come from California but GregCt bought it from another gentleman in Connecticut. That guy got it from Cali. He actually p***ed away and his Son sold it to GregCT. If you have any info you can share that would be great. If not, no worries. I’m told it’s been to Bonneville. I’d love to see anything on that. I’d like to go there sometime.

    I found this picture online. Looks like it was in Ohio before it reached the Northeast. IMG_2103.jpeg

    Got the burs on the louvers all filed and the hood in primer. I’m waiting on some paint from Eastwood. It should be here this week. I primed my grill shell too and ordered a new cap with the trim. I tried to find an original one with no luck. I’m looking for an original grill too. If anyone out there has one let me know. Here’s a couple pictures. IMG_0136.jpeg IMG_0157.jpeg

    I’m still working on the hood latches but here’s how the hood and original grill shell looks. If anyone has an original grill and radiator cap with the bezel please let me know. Thanks. IMG_0181.jpeg IMG_0184.jpeg IMG_0185.jpeg IMG_0188.jpeg IMG_0178.jpeg

    Thanks. I’m really happy with the look. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about it but I’m glad I did it.

    Bought some gauges last night. I needed the gas gauge the most, especially since I ran out of gas on the way to work recently. The other two I thought would be handy to have. I’m thinking about mounting the vacuum gauge in the dash to the left of the tach. The 2”gas and amperes gauge I’ll need to see where they fit best. I’m not sure of the size of the vacuum gauge. Once I get it I’ll know better where to mount it but the dash seems like the most likely place.

    So you can see in my last uploaded photos that now I have actual shocks. Had the my front end completely rebuilt, kingpins and all. I ended up having bent axle and bent wishbone and the spring hangers were cracked and not very solid either. Added another leaf and some bump stops. Also had my steering box rebuilt. I had shocks installed in the rear as well. Special thanks to everyone at Millworks HotRod in ****ord NH for doing such a great job. They did a bunch more for me but too much to list. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for quality work. Here’s a couple before and after photos of the rear shocks. IMG_2343.jpeg IMG_2334.jpeg

  18. It was in Cario (Carr-row) New York. A man by the name of Robert (Bob) Hempstead own it at that point. He p***ed away and his son sold it.

    I remember seeing Bob with the car a few times. I don’t know where in the time line that was.

    Yeah, it changed hands quite a few times. California to Ohio to New York and then Connecticut, maybe more. I had it on my bucket list so I’ll be keeping it for a good long time.

    Got my car back from the shop today. The difference is huge. It’s not quite as low as it was but the ride is worth it. Millworks HotRod did a great job. IMG_0508.jpeg

New master cylinder and brakes front and rear. No more leaks in the rear differential and new rear axle bearings. Complete front end rebuild. Also rebuilt the steering box. The overhaul made a m***ive difference. Did my first smoke show for 2026. lol! More to come. Can’t wait for Spring.
