Heads are from Don. So was the NOS mallory 6v coil on the front of the engine. Has alot stronger spark than stock 6v coil. What a nice guy by the way.

Cool. Love that you kept it 6V. You are hard core or have a lot of hills to jump start it!

I hear 8BA starters have a little more torque due to slightly increased compression of later flattys, would like to know if that's true or not. (anyone?) Might have to get one if the increased compression causes slow starter rotations....

Also thinking I may need to modify a stock battery shell with a secret Optima inside.... will do whatever I have to. I don't need no 12 stinking volts.

Check out the Antique Battery company. They do exactly what you are thinking about and their stuff is top notch. They are a little spendy, but the quality is awesome.

I've heard Lincoln V-12 starters are higher torque and were the ticket for high compression engines....according to a local old timer. They are about an inch longer than a Ford starter.

I'm not that hardcore. I like my 12 volts.

I thought they were all the same. If your starter is in good shape, it should do it. Making sure the timing is spot on is going to be the trick with the 6V system.

My pops '32 Tudor w/ a 59 AB & '49 F-1 are still 6V and they will start. Sometimes quicker than other times, but they always (generally maybe) start.

C'Mon, bro. They don't come much "hard core" than you my friend. Didn't you start out using a 6V system?
