Been looking for a tri-five for years, but wasn't looking to spend a fortune, and wanted one with some character... brought this one home yesterday. 1956 210 four door sedan, 75K miles, 235 six, PG, original interior and original paint. No rust, a few s****es and dings, exactly what I was looking for...
Neat, cool, nice and a bunch more...good for you. That is a nice one. Enjoy and drive for sure! Cheers....
Thanks for the comments guys... I plan on driving and enjoying it... here's a few more... original spare still in the trunk..
Hell, by the ***le I though you had found a nice little 49/51 Ford as those are the real shoeboxes. That's a nice 56 Chevy but it's no shoebox.
Thanks for the comments..As far as the nickname, I guess it's where your from... I've heard both referred to as shoeboxes... http://www.carcraft.com/featuredvehicles/ccrp_0409_1955_chevrolet_210/viewall.html
Probably by the same clowns that call a distributor a "dizzy". When we grew up in the 50's and were teenagers in the 60's Shoebox only met 49/51 Ford. 56 Chevys were just 56 Chevys and the poor step sibling to 55 or 57 Chevys. Coming from the tri-5 Chevy guys around here in the late 50's early 60's shoebox would probably have been a derogatory term when discussing Fords. Nice little 56 at any rate.
I thought you said you found a shoebox ! What you have there my friend is a nice 56 Chevy. Good for you.
