Pics coming when I get this beast home! It's a '58 Chevy Yeoman wagon that is in Texas, that I'm doing some trading with one of my projects for. It's a Six with the "monkey shift" three-on-the-tree, and it's a complete roller! Woo-hoo! I'm pretty pumped about getting a '50s longroof! Didn't particularly care what make; just had to have a wagon! Only options I know of on it are a heater and a radio. It's a six-passenger (no third seat), and was originally bronze and white. I like that color combo, and might go back to that, or perhaps go with solid bronze or burnt orange metallic. Plans? Hopping the inliner up a little, add disc brakes in the front, doing the interior in a Naugahyde tuck-n-roll style, and run some Torque-Thrusts, for starters!
Sam, I'm probably going to be there as a spectator only...the '66 still has transmission problems and I doubt my '68 D100 Dodge PU would set any speed records, except maybe for slowest ET!
JW - Near San Antonio. That wagon with a teardrop is EXACTLY what I have in mind!!! The B-52 engine pods that are the park lamps on the '58 are one of the coolest styling features on these cars!
The 58 is one of my favorite years for wagons...post up some pix and good luck with the project...love those longroofs!
those years sedan deliverys just welded the tailgate to the rear hatch window. so it lifted like a modern hatch on a mini van... did ya get the roof rack.. i always thought puttin 4 tie down cleats from a boat would be cool if the rack was missin.. and puttin horizontal stripes on all the rear of the doors glass for the ambulance look was a good idea too good luck we used one of those nine pass little bench seats in our basement as we grew up for watching tv ....ha ... actually fought over who could use it
