I took a 4 hr ride up into Canada yesterday and brought this back home. Coming out of the garage with loose parts and seeing it on my trailer made me stop in my tracks. I finally got one ! It's pretty solid for a 60 year old, few patches here and there but not much filler. It's got an 010 block 350, th350 and an unknown 10 bolt.
Congrats on your Henry J ! I really liked them too and they are great drag cars ! Let us know how it runs when you take it out . Retro Jim
I know JUST how you feel...got mine about a year ago, needed a lot more than yours, second pic is progress so far. While towing it home an older guy on the ferry told me he used to have one of these old studebakers...
Thanks everyone, 440Dave you have a better paint job than me though. I'm just excited to have it but don't look forward to making room in the garage for it..lol
Well congrat's on the score. Since we had a rainout today at Empire, we'll have to postpone your first spanking till next Sunday LOL. Will be over this week to check it out.
Well I got it in the garage and let me tell you climbing over that roll bar to put gas in it is some crazy stuff. I'm not sure how or why someone would do that, it's the only way to get gas in it though. I'll have that on the list of things to change. I was looking at the TR1X tunnel ram I have and I'm sure that will find a home on there with a blower scoop. I'm in no hurry to rip it apart, think I'll change one thing at a time over a longer period of time. It sure did look good in my driveway, I was like hell yeah !
Sure didn't take long to make up your mind on that one! What did your honey say about the new addition?-MIKE
Nice buy Phil! This must have been that gasser you were telling me about. It's cool. I'm just wondering how they let you past the border...haha! -Steve
Looks great Phil..... You'll be on the ole' 1320 in the spring ? Was that car in the Belleville area ?
Pretty easy, but took an hour of paper work, mostly finding the right forms for the EPA. It was duty exempt because it was from the U.S. orginaly. Had to make the move Mike, once I talked to Rick (the friend that looked at it for me) and he said it was solid it was a no brainer. She looked at it and said at least it has fins, they did google it while I was on the trip to see what one looked like. She also said I couldn't sale the t-bucket because that was the only car in the garage she could drive. She even said I could sale her split window bus ! Yes Neil, that's the one, he traded it from Mortan (Hemi J car) he didn't know much about it. He did say he seen your car somewhere though, Mother's Worry.
