At TROG last weekend....Hauled****! Won twice.

 

Well....looks like I am finally putting in the Turbo400, next week. My knee can only put up with so much. Got the inline trans cooler today, so i'll be dropping it off at my buddy's shop Monday.
That means....the M21 Muncie will be for sale!!!!! Contact me if interested, only about 1k miles on it. completely rebuilt, excellent condition. Includes shifter, clutch and slave cyl.

 

You need to get the Mad Max style knee brace...........

Finally met Jerry Walker, who I believed was the original builder of my Coupe. As it turns out, he's not the original builder. He told me it ran around for years as a channeled, unchopped East Coast Hotrod, before he got it. So it was originally built in the 50's. Then he made his changes to it. He's the one who chopped it. Also found out he sold it to some****hole in Arizona, before Conrad got it. Guess he was a*****. Found out my steering wheel is a Covico, just like the one in Milners Coupe. Extremely rare. He hadn't seen the car in over 15yrs. What a fun day. AND, some guy offered to buy it! Should have asked him to make an offer, lol. No way I'm selling it...

 

Well, my motor mount, that attaches to the frame broke again, on the way home from out Resurection show. Think I need to cut it all out and make a new ONE PIECE mount. My Vega steering box is right under it, so the previous owner cut it up. I'll post some pics when I get after it. Need to get fixed before the RPM Nationals....

 

I don't know if this will work for you but there's a Hurst SBC mount in the classifieds.....

 

Stroked 283, so that would be a 307. Right

My buddy told me about those. He has one, so were gonna see if it will work.

 

Pulled out the welder, and rewelded the motor mount. Noticed that it didn't get good bead last time. So I cleaned it up real good and put down a nice one this time. I would like to put one of those saddle mounts, but i'll have to relocate my alternator. I'm thinking about designing my own. Or i'm gonna cut out the old one and make one that's one piece.
Also decided i'm NOT gonna race it anymore. Not why I bought it. Might build a car for TROG instead.

 

Made about 8 passes at the last TROG, only lost twice. Once to that injected Sedan and the other time to Troy Ladd, in his blown Hemi Coupe. It was all for fun anyways....Mount must have broken then.

 

Hmm.....Well, I took out the Bomber seats(they're for sale now). Wasn't pleased with comfort and they don't tilt forward. Also...after meeting the guys for breakfast on sat, the upper radiator hose broke. When the motor mount broke, the torque caused the motor to raise and fan cut the hose, where it was already worn. Pretty sure it's the one from the 80's, haha. Cause, I don't think Conrad ever did anything to the Coupe when he owned it. Only have a few more things to do, then i'm done changing things. For now...
1-Shorter coilovers
2-New gas tank
3-Recover the seats
4-Put new cover on the roof incert

That gas tank looks like its out of a '69 or later Jeep CJ . They were mounted under the drivers seat

It's a boat tank. Temporary...

It will get is day soon. Collecting some parts to make some changes...

 

Guy in a big expensive Mercedes stopped by my house and wanted to buy my Coupe, Tuesday! I told him it wasn't for sale. He said, "What would it take for you to sell it?". I told him 70k, haha. He asked for my number. Really don't want to sell it, but that's hard to turn down.

 

What are the guy’s intentions? Seen many a vehicle go to waste in the wrong hands. Just say’n.

 

Doubt it's gonna happen....I like it too much.

Haven't updated in a while. Not much new.....
-Got new gas tank, so I can dump the Boat tank
-Bought a small 8" elec fan(cause I don't like the 16", LOUD fans) to put behind the grill for hot days and traffic
-Finally putting the stock spring on the front, to raise it about 2"
-Got some rubber body mounts, so I can tighten it up.
-Still on the look out for some of those 16", solid Rocket Wheels. They stopped selling them...
That's about it. I retire in 2weeks, so I can get it all done.

 

Don't think I will ever sell it. Too much fun....

Bob, I just took a deposit on a set of 16”/18” Rocket Solids with excelsior rubber about 10 days ago, but the dude hasn’t shown up to pick them up yet. If interested I can let you know if he bails.

 

I love those wheels!!! I probably can't afford those, but I appreciate the offer.
