My dad ran a B/gas Willys coupe in the 60's. I've wanted a Willys pickup since watching Wayne Harry run his in the 80's. I've been trying to buy this truck and finally brought it home after almost 7 years of calling the owner a couple times a year. I also got the frame, set of cherry original bobbed rear fenders and another cowl with it. The plans are for a 470 stroker big block Mopar and a Nash 5 speed with a stance similar to the Mura Brothers Willys pickup. Moral of the story: Don't give up on those "not for sale or I'm going to fix it up someday" cars.
hey TRASHN...well man your on your way, a BIG block mopar huh? i love it! please keep those rebuild pics. flowing. i'am very interested, DON'T you know. that old boy's going to be a stormer! call me POP...or the old FART!
I am jealous. My wife and I were just talking about how I would like to find a Willy's p/u this morning. Really jonesin for a g***er to build.
Congrats, man! Persitance pays, eh? With a BB Mopar and a stick, I think Wayne Harry will be proud... I am! Maybe we'll run each other some day at Madras or somewhere... Scotty
Congratulations. I remember the feeling the day my husband brought home our willys coupe. Talk about being on cloud nine. We have a 1940 willys pickup and we love it. They are really cool. G***er Girl
awesome. i love willys trucks and yourve got a great start there. looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
You are so right on the "not for sale, I'm going to fix it up someday" cars.We have all heard that story too many times. Good job!
Just got home from picking up a complete '39 Willys front axle for $50. Won a vintage Moon tank on E-bay yesterday and got a lead from a buddy on an '62 Olds posi rearend. Seems too good to be true right now. Don't pinch me, I might wake up! Here are pictures of some the parts that have I've been collecting for the last 10 years to do this. The silver and orange stuff is vintage boat upholstery for the seats. Thanks for the support.
what kinda heads?...have a nice set of early big block mopar NOS black Offy valve covers for the early 4 bolt heads...the extra corner holes came in about 1962 or 63...the curve is still there...
grads go out.cool car.i had one along time ago and would give at least two pints of blood to have it back
