Well at least work to make progress on.I already had the front sheetmetal removed along with the front suspension to have powdercoated. Since I had some time off due to the end of the racing season I thought it was a good time to get to work.Plan was to fit suspension ,all rebuilt with energy suspension polyurethane bushings and new ball joints.To make roll and take her down to the shop to strip firwall to bare metal and fill in the 43 holes that she had on her.Then epoxy prime to seal up so later I can skim coat with filler and block sand smooth.Then tackle the job of setting up the engine and ****** mounts. Here's some pics to help tell the story and progress.
I also had to swap out the tailshaft housing from the T5 from Camaro to the S-10 tailshaft to move shifter up in the correct location.Here the Camaro shifter location.To far back. The beverly shear to make cutting plugs for the firewall alittle easier.
This is the part on project cars were i sit in them, and make engine noises and bang through the gears and imagine ripping down the street haha. Keep up the good work man.
Now that thats epoxy primed and ready for final skim coat to smooth out and make perfectly flat for paint I moved on to doing the mounts.I did have to modify the crossmember for the ****** but it came out well. Engine temporarily set in and ****tershield and ****** bolted together. This shot shows the location of the shifter with the swap of tailshaft housings. Here's the crossmember after I cut it in order to widen to fit frame properly.It was supposed to fit a 4spd but I opted for a 5spd. instead so between that and sliding the engine a little further back than the directions say I had to widen. Just added some inside tubing rosette weld and then mock up and tack all in place. The Mustang II front was already on the car when I bought it.It still needs some TLC and some smoothing. Here's the stock ****** mount which is a tough little B to get out riveted very well from factory. Grind heads off and use an air hammer with punch to knock out rivets from frame. Now the cars back home begging for more, so another day and I'll get to do some more.

I see what you were talking about on the trans crossmember and it is a better design. Looking good!! I think you should use that Z intake.

20th century, kinda would like to see steering column and pedal ***emblies.I briefly looked at the web site you sent me ,thats pretty cool with all the history on that car. Chad , thats funny you have a 40 ford i started looking for one but I found this 37 and since I grew up around my dads 38 chevy that I love It kinda was a no brainer on which car would be for me.Dad won't let go of his 38 yet so I bought my own. He thinks it's neat.he runs a GMC 302 6 cyl. with the same Camaro T5 ****** and S-10 tailshaft swap.His is also straight axle, drag raced his car since I was a toddler.Part deaf in my left ear from sitting at the start line. Wouldn't change a thing.
