At 6'4" I have had to reposition seats in almost every hot rod I have owned.

My old beater has been moved 6" back.

The old 4 door was moved 8" back.

And the '54 Ford Ranch Wagon was moved 6" back. HRP

There are some advantages to being 5-10 with a 29 inch inseam.
The only time I ever pushed the seat all the way back in my old 51 was when I was parked with my then girlfriend.

Rick, I had the seat adjuster moved as far back as it would go when I drilled the new mounting holes , Brenda can actually move the seat where it is too close to the steering wheel for her.

I positioned the seat where we both could comfortably drive the wagon. HRP

Without hijaking the thread here, I'd be very interested, Danny, in knowing what you're using for seats in your tudor. Access to the back seat (luggage or people) is a real problem in my Vicky.

    You bet. Good job.
Just imagining you driving and Brenda riding shotgun a fair distance from the dashboard. :)

This reminds me of a friend in high school who was 6'6". He drove an MG and usually drove without the top since he could look over the top of the windshield. His girlfriend was the shortest girl in school at well under five foot. She could barely see over the dashboard.

After chopping my 49 Buick I had to cut the seat frame down so it sits on the floor and move it back another 6" from stock. Now the back seat is basically useless for adults, maybe OK for kids.

At a show I was admiring a C-Cab hot rod, pretty wild/kool piece and talked with the man sitting by the car, I took note, guessing 6' 4/6" 300# maybe, looked like pro football lineman. Nice guy and he showed me the mods he built in to squeeze in it. He sat in center of car, steering mounted on center, seat back and on floor, very small/thin **** pad, he filled the cab up, no p***engers. I hung around just to see how he got in it, watching him get in, 5# in 2# bag popped in my mind but was grinning ear to ear when leaving and in earlier conversation he said never cruised very far, trailered it anything over 50 miles. Being a big man and prewar hotrods makes for interesting mods to fit in.

Being 6’7” I drove my A coupe from Joplin,MO to Austin,TX to the Roundup and back in 2010. Of course I was younger and thinner at the time!

Interesting to see how folks adapted their rides. Being about 6’-6” I wonder how I would fit in some of the smaller hot rods.
