Very nice ride, I like the chop.
It looks very similiar to "ratstu"'s shoebox. Same color, different grill.

Whoever did the bodywork on that car is an ace, that is so sweet.

As for door latches, personally I am considering '60s Mustang parts. The latch mechanism is operated by simple rod attachments and has a backing plate and the post is stout as well. I have yet to figure out all aspects but that is my current and least expensive plan. You can still get them new from the Mustang parts houses. I hope that helps...

2.5"drop spindles and two leafs from the rear. Oh and the paint is just a purple base coat and a clear with a flattening agent. Everman Auto Body in the Ft. Worth area. Super good work.

Great ride! Love the profile and stance. I'm going to have to get a shoebox someday myself.

Very nice. Love the '49 shoebox Fords. If you ever want to lose your trunk hinges, I'll buy them off ya.

WOW, One of the nicest shoebox I have seen. some say pictures do not do cars justice. If yours looks this good in the pic, must be even more incredible up close. Thumbs up man. I like it.

If this was sitting in my garage, I would knock down the wall to my house and install one HUGE window.....
