I finally feel like I'm making some progress.
    In the past week:

Got the starter problems worked out

New kingpins installed thanks to Outlaw and Crushproof.

Found some 51 plates at the swap Sunday, need to paint em' and I'll get her registered and legal.

Saturday Kontinental brother Scotty helped me get it in a final coat of primer.

Now to decide on color [IMG]

I liked the green it was in before but I'm thinking a change might be good.

I'm leaning toward a crimson marron.

    Getting closer....

Thought I'd add a shot of Scottys Ford.
It's turning into a nice custom.

We have some cars to paint.

Damn, I'm jealous, squirting paint outside in the driveway, in December! Over here it would be frozen half way to the car. That front end treatment is ***s, looking good.-MIKE [IMG] [IMG]

  12. in the second pic it looks like a trash bag is exploding behind you but you are calm with the paint gun.. that's skills man.

Looks sweet. If ya ever need a hand, just say the word. I may not know much, but Im always glad to prove it. [IMG]

I've been wanting to learn to spray for a while, but cash has been a little low to even think about it lately.

Right on Shaun - I know after that last photo that you are alot happier after this weekend. One step closer to having a car that the missus will actually ride in without a struggle.

I do have a question though. How old is that paint gun? Man with the price of materials, you'd be money ahead to buy an HVLP. Even a cheapy Harbor Freight. I have one you can borrow if ya need it.

Roots right. I've got the $50 dollar purple one from HF and it's amazing how much less paint you use. Well worth the money with todays high paint prices.

Looking good, Shaun, but I liked it the way it was for that matter.

    Thanks for the offer Root.
The gun is a brand new cheapie that came with my new compressor.
Scotty brought his nice upscale primer gun but something was messed up with it so we pulled the cheapo outta the box.
    It actually sprayed really well.

When we shoot the color we'll be using good equipment and temporary booth.

So did I Sailor, believe me I had no intention of changing the paint after I had it done before the first Roundup.

It's a long story that some folks here already know but I'll try to condense it.

Basically I took it to a "buddy’s" shop to swap a Chevy V8 for the 216 I'd spun a barring in.
It sat for two years, half done, and any work that got done I had to drive an hour and a half to do myself.

By the time I went and rescued the poor thing it had been hit in the quarter panel when he was moving another customer’s car.

I have had to fix every thing I paid to have done.
    Lesson learned, do it yourself.

The only reason I took it to him was to help him with some business and because I was on tour that whole summer and I thought I'd just get the swap done and have it back on the road by fall.

Oh well, it gave me the chance to put the Olds windshield in and nix the gas filler door.

Here's how she sat before the fi***co.

Charlie always says green cars are bad luck. You need a different color.

    K'nut, she's looking mighty fine.
How much trouble was it to put the Olds windshield in?
I'd like to do that to my Fleetline.

    Thanks Donzie,
The windshield is an easy swap, just cut the center bar out and it fits right in.
