Ever have a project for so long that starting it just seams strange? I'm making the subrails for the body out of parts from three different bodies. The whole project is basicly a lifetime collection of parts. Back in 1962, maybe 1963 I spotted the body on the floor of a garage on the way home from church one Sunday. Dad checked it out the next day, it was free if I cleaned out the garage. A typical channeled Hot Rod body of the day that most likely never made it to the street. I took it all apart and stored it in the loft above the garage, sold the doors for some reason. Over the years I found a good cowl and another pair of doors. In 1976 a guy knocked on the door and wanted to buy it, I said no, but he kept coming over every other week and I finally let it go. He had it for 25 years and did nothing to it except take it with him when he moved twice. On his third move I got it back. Plan is to have a fully finished and painted body, but i just can't bring myself to do anything with the rear quarters. Dark gray primer with pinstriping some unknown kid did in the late '50's early '60's. The 354 HEMI is going in it, I want it to be an as built in 1962 Hot Rod
