I couldn’t take it, had my drunk neighbor get his digital and I pulled it out. Four quick dry hops up the street and brought it back in. wow!!! The power is certainly there. This morning you can see it’s a posi the rest of the neighbors are waving and smiling this morning so I guess we’re ok. It is kind of loud, even thru the mufflers. As it sits now…way to high!!! But I needed to get this outside on the street, so I could see the stance on the street. The driveway slants too much. 3” inches more in the rear and some 1 ½” springs for the front. Finally got my center caps so I can start making them, then order my WW’s and trim rings. I WILL figure out these brakes today. Then paint all of the interior trim a nice copper spray bomb. The tri-power arrived this week and is waaaay more than I had expected. What a trophy!!! so now I need to ac***ulate the electronics and a timing chain cover. Winter is OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the sunshine is bright here.
Nothing wrong with the "stance" that I can see, and the blackwalls on slots look right on, too. Makes me wonder why I sold all my Safaris, and all the more determined to get my 421 back together, the injection mounted, muncie bolted up, and finally, get it stuffed into my 29 for a trip around the block.
Not a huge fan of the wheels but the stance looks right on. I like the battery hold down too. Very cool wagon.
Very nice. I like the subtle tricks, i.e., the battery hold-down, the dipstick, and the sight-gl*** on the overflow. Good on ya!
Stops!!! where I want it to. PIA a few little things like the booster check valve but mostly a rubber mallet here and there let them bleed clean. All of the brake lines were replaced and I guess air can hide in a lot of places. Thanks!!! for the posts. The car is definitely going much lower, one of the few ways I can remain happy about even owning a station wagon right now, certainly didnt grow up wanting one. And the wheels have to go.
Cool, glad to see you've gotten this far. One of these days i'll be there. Whenever mines comes off jackstands, it should sit another 3" lower in the front. For now I'll be running Cragars on the front and chrome steelies on the rear. What are the plans on the wheels?
**BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE** I'm SO excited and SO envious all in the same throw. I've got 2 days off coming, I'm going to hammer down and take out some SERIOUS pent up aggression out on mine.
I dig the wheels, but not for this car. I think I have a handle on the direction I want to take this. Never owned a station wagon before and these wheels lean more towards kind of race car looking, and this wagon just can't be that. Hopefully with a corrected stance, WW's and some center caps and rings it will come together. oh! and paint.
