That pen does work, but requires you to roll the little wheel with
    your thumb to feed wire.

I would let the wire 'freeze' in the puddle by backing off your
torch slightly, slide your hand back to regrip wire. Now just get back
in the puddle to free wire. Sounds awkward, but I have been doing
    for years.

    Hope this help's, Good luck!

Darned if human perserverance isn't the most powerful energy force on earth. Go for it. Do anything and everything that interests you. I strongly suspect that you are creative enough to come up with some pretty clever innovations. Welcome back to the ranks of the guys who metal glue stuff together!!

No advise, but now my problems seem childlike in comparison. Thumbs up, man.

  18. Great work!! As stated, your a real inspiration!!

I am wondering if some sort of track mounted to your chair would work. You could have it adjustable for postion and even angle. Then you could weld on different areas without having to re-set your track on the project, just wheel up, lock the wheels and go!! Not sure if I am explaining it good enough, but I'm sure you'll come up with something.

    Keep up the great work.

Way to go!! I too am handicapped. I have lost my left leg and have no use of my left arm from the elbow to the fingers. We cant let it stop us. It can be so frustrating, trying to do what once came naturally. You just took your first step back to where we were before our accidents. It's not easy. Sometimes heartbreaking. I'm proud of what I have done this past 2 years. I know that I still have a long way to go. Sometimes we need to swallow our pride and ask for help (I found that is the hard part) I hope for you Gods speed in getting where welding comes as natural as before, just different.

    Good Luck

pretty cool. they used to make tig wire feeders for production stuff. keep your eye on the auction site. one should pop up. or maybe you can just use a mig to supply your wire. just dont ground it

You have what alot are lacking in this world ,guts ,determintation ,and positivity. No limit to how far you can go with those kind of qaulities my freind.Im amazed and inspired by your actions to say the least ...:)

  24. Could you put the tig wire inside a piece of 1/4" brake line and let the wire slide down though, rest the tube between your thumb and index finger on top controlling it with your indexfinger. You could probably rig something on your shoulder to rest the other end of the tube. Just an idea but might work , Rob.
