  1. @Ryan -

    Nice captures of Ron's '32 5wd Coupe!

Didn't know Ron had a VW Notchback . . . as @3wLarry would say: "Cool Beans"

How did the R1T perform? . . . any "Range Anxiety"?

  2. Yes, All 1932-34 Arizona plates are copper and highly sought after. I have one on my 34 5 window. As I was looking through pictures of Ron's coupe I just realized I gave him the vintage military grade aluminum door panel that I had left over from my coupe. Cool to see stuff you contributed to such a great build. It was quite the transformation.

Ron Olmstead is a good friend of me and my brother in Phoenix. I sold him my 40 coupe with a nailhead several years ago.

  4. I'm curious about the axle, is it a chromed axle or a aluminum Superbell? HRP

Not only is Ron's 32 a great hot rod, but Ron is a great guy. He helped me with my 32.

  9. It was fantastic to have you here @Ryan to compare notes on many topics. As they say, birds of a feather, my friend. The desert can heal what gets us down if you let it happen.

@HOTRODPRIMER The spreader bars are model T axle for the rear, and the front is middle out of model A to follow the curve of the 32 heavy dropped axle that I am running.

All AZ license plates between 32 and 34 were solid copper with different paint. Copper plates came back in about 75 as the standard size for historic cars till about 90 when they went back to tin, and now all are screen printed.

Here is the build thread on the coupe.

Nothing better than real film. Seems to give the photographs more depth and just a warm look. (not from the desert heat kinda warmth) Beautiful work Ryan as I know you know. Joe

  14. I got to go through this with my son.......now I'm doing it again with my grand-boys. It's actually easier to see the boys off....must be getting used to it.
