I thought maybe some of you hot rodders would have some suggestions on how I can fine tune this a little.

There is carbon buildup on #4 and #3 pistons as well as all over the valves.

On the list now is heating the intake manifold, beyond that I'm up for suggestions. Different temp plugs maybe?

I'm just looking to get some tips to make this run a little cleaner and more even. The carbon in #4 is horrible, #3 was so so, and #1 and #2 were completely clean. Why? #1 should be coldest with the fan blowing on it.

Using any oil ? smoking? what color? What kind and how many carbs. Does the head have pressure feed oiling? If so oil not returning? how are the rings-valve guides?

I don't think it's using any oil, splash oil. One carb - too big (Holley 94 8BA).

Bad power valve in the carb? Black smoke while running?

The theory was presented that maybe the intake is at a slight angle in the car, causing unvaporized fuel (cold intake) to drip into the rear two cyls. Maybe that's it. I'll know when I get the engine back into place, can't remember if it sits tilted or not now. I'm also going to heat the intake this time, hopefully resolving the issue completely. We'll see. It runs great, but the carbon situation could be better.
