There's a product over here in Australia called Wedge Wire. It's used for screens on coal mine wash plants and has found it's way into up market bath rooms as drain covers. I've also seen it at Darling Harbour in Sydney on their water features. We throw it out by the tonne once worn and is worth a small fortune. It's made of stainless steel and looks really cool but is heavy. There might be someone that makes it out of aluminium..... Just googled it.... that's the stuff. Got me thinking now.....
