My first thread here on the Hamb so be gentle ;)

Gonna buy some white walls to my Star Chief -54.
Got some black coated 15" rims (6" width) that needs some white walls.

The question, does 670 fit on the rim or should i go with 710s? or even higher?

It's like 380$ each on the firestone 670 tires here in Sweden so i don't wanna buy the wrong tires....

Could buy "General" tires 670-15 (3 3/4" ww) for 240$ each but never heard of that mark before? Guess it's kinda **** due to the (in sweden) cheap price?

    Enlighten me!

Okey ty. But, Saw this site:
    http://www.widewhitetires.com/firestone.html

And the max recomended rim width for 670-15 is 5". According to the diagram on the site i should go with 710s. But still, i don't know what to order...
    Guess i need more feedback.

You're Pontiac had 7.10 X 15 when new. Back then, if someone wanted to "improve" the tires, they usually went bigger (7.60 X 15), not smaller.

Okok. As long as they fit in the wheel well. The car is a bit lower now then it was back in the 50s.

  6. They'll work, I've had 'em on my '29s front for 3 years on later model 6" rims, wear is even and good. I run 32 lbs of air in 'em.

I'm running Firestone 6.70X15" www on my 15"X7" rims. They fit and look great. Been on there for 5 years with no issues. Also no issues with general tires either. Here a pic on my truck. ImageUploadedByTJJ1366122275.115900.jpg

Haha like the way you think ;)

One more question. 710-15 is that 205/80-15 in mm?

General is a well known brand in the US, not top of the line, but a good tire. They're original equipment on new full size trucks, I've got a set of radials on my daily that are holding up well

They are very cheap here in sweden. General 230$ each, Firestone 360$ each.

But i'll think i go Firestone tho. Seems more legit then General, or maybe it's just the name you pay for.
