Has anyone ran the Coker 7.90x16 dirt trackers tubeless? The reason i asked is i want to mount them on American saltflat wheels and not drill out the rim for tubes.
Running as low as 9psi on 30/13/15 stones on 14" wide saltflats without tubes or rim screws. No problems at all hooking up and running 13's with a mild 400 poncho. Run dyna beads for a smooth ride.
Not always! I worked at Ford dealers most of my life and the new car get ready guys would go crazy sometimes because the steel wheels mounted on the cars would not have a valve stem, it was solid. The factory would blow high pressure air under the rim to inflate the tires as they were mounted on the line and every once in a while an undrilled wheel would slip by the inspectors. Had to drill a pilot hole to let the air out and then dismount the tire and drill out the hole to accept the new stem. I wasn't too happy with Ford when I saw that but felt better when I talked to the Chevy dealer guys down the street that would have the same problem! Years later it was fun to watch a new kid stand there with his tier pressure gauge and stare at that wheel trying to figure out how they got the air i it!
To clarify ,i should have said "can a dirt tracker tire be run tubeless"? But i said i didnt want to drill out the rim for tubes, what i should have said was enlarge the existing holes for tubes because "usually" it takes a slightly larger hole than a tubeless stem would take.Simon g-s,thank you for the answer i was looking for.
That certainly could be true, but that's BEFORE they reach the consumer. Regular folks. Anyway, it was funny and it's been clarified. Post #2 explained what the OP wanted to know. Back to our regularly scheduled program.
