A set of tires came back to me, from a car I sold a few years ago. I don't remember these cracks running quite irregularly around the wheel. Anyone running them like this?

On a side note... A compressor came as well, hard to believe this 5hp unit only has a 13 amp draw???

I have run a lot of tires that look like that.I also have had them come apart pretty spectacularly .Now I use tires like that to hold projects up. JMO.

The HP line appears to be unstamped. Does the compressor mft claim it is 5 HP? Does the comp mfr make any mention of a duty cycle.

The rules for rating "compressor duty" motors are somehow different than real motors.
Even from name brand manufacturers. Something along the inflated "peak" HP that Sears is famous for.

Normally I figure the motor HP X 4 = approximately full load amps 0n 230 volts.
So I'm thinking that is really a 3 HP motor

This is a craftsmen unit... probably 20 years old. Sticker on the motor and cover say 5hp... but im sure its quite a liberal rating

Are they retreads? My new but old tires had fine hairline cracks where the tread joined the case and not sidewalls. One tyre delaminated quite spectacularly one day when driving my old 66 GTA Fairlane so I looked at the others and ran a box cutter through the sidewalls of them so no one else had the same problem. They all deteriorated from laying around for a few years. New tyres after that.

sidewall cracks are from rolling a tire around unaired /low , you should be more worried about the tread seperation from the casing if thats what I am seeing in the lower portion of the photo

Those "cracks" really look like someone cut the plastic wrapping off with a razor blade?
