So I got a 1929 Chevy 1 1/2 ton truck. I wanna make a hot rod or rat rod out of it. I still have the stock frame and from suspension. I didn’t know if I should cut it off and start new or frame swap. Thanks for any help and info. Here’s a pic of what the truck is. Not exact but have everything
That's a really cool truck. Personally, i'd start with something else and leave it alone. Chevy's are hard to come by, there are millions of Fords to cut up.
I agree. That's too complete and too nice to cut up. I'd clean it up and fix whatever is necessary and enjoy it the way it is (and I'm no purist; I've modified plenty of vehicles).
Lose the fenders, get the engine to run reliably and don't tear it all apart. It will be something you can enjoy. Don't make the mistake many of us make and rip it all apart and start making radical changes. Forget the rat rod ****, it's a cuss word on this site. Good place to start.
I don't think that's a picture of the OP's truck, reread his last 2 sentences. "Here’s a pic of what the truck is. Not exact but have everything".
