    The panels are finished, it's a little late in the process to start messing around with clips and the holes to accomodate them.

    I don't think screws will be necessary. We shall see...

    It's never too late...there've been many times, including on factory panels - in the 60's GM used some sort of "nail" to hold door panels on, that I've pulled back the original material, inserted a clip, reglued it, marked the door for that 1/4" hole, drilled it and put the panel back on...the "nails" GM used simply wouldn't hold the panel after many years. You just have to take your time...and it looks ten times better than a couple of sheet metal screws with washers at the bottom of the panel...
