Please run the 28-9 shell. Everybody and their uncle runs a deuce shell on damned near everything anymore.....IMO, they're no longer unique or different or cool...just same ol same ol. I'm running my 29 painted shell on my roadster...I like that look. Simple, clean, short, fat and smooth.
Whether painted or chrome, stay with the 28-9 shell...you'll like it.

28-29 Shell, I agree ^^^^^ as stated above. Where in Davidson are you. I am in Cornelius. Looks like John Sad in one of those pictures with the headlights?

Looks good. Going to chop mine down to fit stance of the car, also will have to make a hood top section. I'll put more photos in the build album as we go. Thanks

    No on the T grille!

28-9 is the best looking model A grille!

  7. The deuce shell is nice, but the '28-29 shell really fits the car it was designed for. I am doing a '29 and staying with the '29 shell. I welded up the filler hole and gave it a slight peak, will add paint, and I am calling it good. The '29 shell looks good either painted or chrome, imho.

'28-'29. Cut it up a lot, add a bunch of metal, and stuff.

I've always liked and used a deuce shell, it just says "hot rod" to me, but on my current project I deviated and went with a chrome 28-29 shell. On this one it just looks a little simpler, IMO. It is also cheaper to do than a deuce shell, because you don't have to buy the shell and an insert, just the shell. I think radiators are a little cheaper too for the A shells.

Which ever way you go make it line up with the cowl even if you don't run s hood. Cars with the grill 6" above the cowl look stupid!
