Thanks. I am excited to get the body set on the frame. Hopefully I can get the body set on the frame later this week. I have to finish plumbing a brake light switch and fill the trans and rear end with fluid and the chassis will be ready. Install the gas tank and welt and the body will be ready! There will be many updates coming fast as this car comes together.

Got the body on the frame. Lots of parts to put on now! I can almost hear the thing running.

Looking Great !! Wow very nice build!! Thanks for posting..

  7. The red frame in combination with the other chassis parts' being black results in a nice look. I wouldn't have thought to do that, but I like it.

I got the doors hung Friday. Lots of smaller items taken care of too. I will post a few more pics later tonight or tomorrow.

Got a few more things done this week. Last weekend my lovely wife straightened all the fins on the radiator. I also got the fuel pump, pressure regulator, header and intake put on. My days off are coming up and with any luck I may be able to start it Saturday.

A wife like that is definitely a keeper. Good luck on getting your car running this weekend.

I just went down the the paint store and looked in the books. I looked at the one that was set up like paint chips at the hardware store. I picked the maroon more in the red side rather than purple. The grey was more of a brown/red tone in it rather than blue. They work together really well. I can give you the Nason number if you would like

Put on the radiator and test fit the hood and shell. Maroon headlights are going to make it look just right.

Got it started today! Needs some adjusting still and the muffler to be put on. I couldn't be happier right now.

Thanks @noboD. I think dad would be happy the way it's turning out. Finally used the stromburg and intake he had stashed away. He had a little hot rodder in him.

Visor and headlights today. Car is starting to look complete. Not too many parts left on the shelf. Counting down. 17 days until the hill climb!

Hood and hood straps installed today j also got the last forgotten parts painted today also. A bit of wiring and glass and I should be ready to take it on a real test drive. I drove it around the block the evening I started it but not a proper test. [IMG][IMG]

My wife was nice enough to make this collage of this car. The first was taken in the 50s when dad drove the car in high school. I wish I knew what happened to the 16s that were on it.

The car looks like a heap of fun. The collage looks great, you should feel very proud looking at it.

Read your entire build. Looks like you got something there! Nice Job!

  29. There are thousands of 16" wires out there. If that's what you want, go for it. :)

I considered a set of 16" wires bit decided on 30-31 19". Installed my alliance fire wall tag and finished some wiring. My wife finished the seats today also. I have plans for a top and a real interior this winter. And finally Took the car for a proper test drive this evening! Took it around town about 10 miles. The car ran and drove very well. The wife and I realized we hadn't eaten so stopped at a drive in and and snapped the last pic. Details are the only things that are left. I hope to get maybe 150 miles on it before the hill climb in less than 2 weeks.
