Yes it is one of Kevin's wheels. My brother met Kevin through a machinist that he was working for. I believe the machinist was the one who was helping Kevin with production on those steering wheels. I just need to finish details including fastening the wood grips to that wheel. I still have tape I put on it to keep it clean during building.
The wood is what my brother came up with. I think it is ash. Maybe Kevin got that wood when my brother got the wheel from him.
You did a very nice job on the whole car Binger. It really looks good. And tell your wife the seat looks great. It matches the car perfectly. I'd leave it in. Keep up the good work. Bob.......................
It's actually cherry! There was a lot of horse trading with the extras from that run of wheels and Tom helped me out a ton with paint work, blasting, etc. I actually sent him a text about the fasteners—Corby rivets would be the best. Screw 'em down and finish off to the surface of the wood. Man, if I had any left I'd send them your way but... I don't.
Thanks for the information. Tom forwarded the links you sent to me. I am going to have to order some.
Lookin' good Binger Sorry, maybe I missed it, but what are you planning on doing for the belt line tack strip? Or do you have a good original? My coupe was missing it's strip when I bough *** and in all the years I've had it I have yet to stumble across a good original to use.
I have a pretty decent trim strip. At one time in its life the nails came loose and someone used a wood screw every few inches. I am going to put it back on with the same holes. I filled the dents with some plastic filler and painted it. I was going to wait to put it on until after I put the top on it but it looks incomplete with out it. So I will install it tomorrow probably. I will take it back off this winter when I do the top. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I installed the trim strip this morning. Makes the car look complete. I also installed the dash rail and headlight switch. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

Hi Binger, could you snap a picture of the brackets that hold the wood together where im pointing? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I will snap a few shots later this evening or tomorrow. I believe there is a tab on the roof section that screws to the header. I will have to go back and check. There might be a pic above where I installed those pieces. Its been a while since I did that work. over a year ago!
Here are a couple of shots is that header. I remembered correctly and it is a bracket welded to the roof tins. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
