One of the members of our car club (River Cruizers CC BHC) moved here from back East with her husband almost 2 years ago. Her husband passed a few months after making the move leaving her with his collection of customs. They've all been sitting for some time, so I told her I'd help out getting them checked out and roadworthy again. She wanted to make the 1964 El Camino her DD, so it was first up. Can't really see it in the pic, but the paint is white with red pearl. Subtle but looks cool in the sunlight. Long story short, needed the fuel system rebuilt, a new brake system including fabbing new brake lines, all wheel cylinders, brake master, hoses, etc. Like most cars, previous owners made "repairs" and customized the car that needed to be reversed or corrected. The car is a mild custom, but with it now done and ready to head home, we'll move on to the '57 Belair, '54 Merc and Nova. Still have one under a cover we haven't looked at yet, so it'll be a surprise.
Most of the pics and videos I created were of the work completed so will take a few exterior shots and post. When we deliver the Elco Saturday I'll take a few shots of the others.
Here's a few exterior pics. Just to be clear, this isn't my car and VRC didn't do any exterior work on the car. Our mission was to bring it back to life and give the owner a nice DD. I have a feeling you guys will lose your shit when you see the '57 Belair taildragger. HEAVILY customized years ago and could be the poster child for what a "custom" is. Hopefully get a few pics of that tomorrow.
Lovin' the Elky, man! My Pop drove a '65 for about 30 years and after he passed away I, stupidly, sold it. Need to put 2 quarters in the ass-kicking machine for that.
