Yeah I know this is an egay link. Anyway I punched in custom and was surfing when this looked familiar, A guy in town owned this and when I was a kid some 40 yrs ago my dad took me to see it, This was in a lot of shows and won a bunch of trophys, about 20 yrs ago he put the smoked plate gl*** in the box side and tailgate, used to drive it to local shows and such, have not seen it for a long time.

****... I remember that truck too. In its day it was a BEAUTIFUL custom.I drooled over that thing years ago.
I gotta say though, It doesn't press my ****ons like it did when I was younger. It'd still be an awesome truck to get...The gl*** sides were over the top back then. Its still in pretty nice shape, looks like

Good thing someone came along in the last couple of years to modify this 40 year old surviving custom. It really needed that blown 454 and '77 Cutl*** steering wheel and '81 Eldorado seat and B(owel)&M(ovement) floor shifter to make it cool.

What was the motor it used to have in it? Did they just cut that hole in the hood, or was it there originally? Looks like it was pretty cool, too bad it had to get "updated" before it's sale.

  11. If I remember correctly it had nice rims and a chromed out small block... Some mulletman always feels the need for a blown bigblock... an 80's thing I guess.[/quote]

Had a big block with blower back in the 70's. Didn't have a mullet, but did have a rather quick car. So it might not be an 80's thing.

I remember this being driven up to Lolo Hotsprings to a show in the 80's Had the big block and blower, He had to pull the hood cause with all that chrome and the heat of the day it got too hot. Saw it later in the Mall show after the gl*** sides were installed, All these updates over the yrs were by the original builder/ owner

That makes me feel better. From reading the ad, you'd think that someone bought the truck in the last couple of years and swapped that motor in/cut the hood up for clearance.

Still a neat truck, but I'd have to undo some of the 80's looking mods if I were to have it.
