After a lot of headaches and trips to the parts store, I got my '54 on the road. I ended up replacing the entire brake system and upgraded to a dual pot MC, and set up some 15" narrow whitewalls to finally get her off jackstands. First trip around the block was a little rough, a vacuum leak kept the C4 from shifting properly, there's some carb issues, and a terrible exhaust system. A few adjustments and I got it going well enough. Taking it in to my buddy's shop this week to get a professional once over and get the fuel tank & lines redone. Hope to get a few more cruises in before Wisconsin winter forces me to shut her in the garage.
Just check out your car- nice man. Just sold my '53 yesterday. I'm 20 miles west of you in Hartland. Hopefully I get a chance to see it around. The way the weather's been lately I would hurry for those last few drives. Take care and best of luck!
Nice looking car, I'm a couple hundred miles north of you, so my winter should hit first, but I'm figuring another couple of weeks left. Nice ride today, windows up and the heater on, but this is Wisconsin.
Why don't you send your Vicky down here to Florida for the winter- I'll make sure it gets driven for you-it's the least I could do for a fellow HAMBer!
