Well I got the flake on the roof and some of the interior parts of the Pontiac today, turned out pretty good i thought, at least for someone who hasn't ever done it before anyhoo. Now i just gotta sand it, put down more clear, and more sanding and buffing....

Now that i got this done hopefully it'll motivate me to get the rest of the body looking as good...Now i wanna do the whole thing in flake...Now to see if i can get all of it off of myself.

thanks, it was the first time I've gotten to do any REAL painting, I'd only got to do primer and just t******* out replacement **** for late model stuff, so i guess this was my first actual paint job. I'm happy. I'll be alot happier after all the sanding and buffing is done though!

haha, the rest of the car is all covered up still, but it'll get uncovered tomorrow and I'm sure it's gonna look like **** compared to the roof. I just went ahead and did the roof since there was no bodywork to do on it, and as kind of a reward for the work I'm done so far. Getting one thing done on the car will do wonders as far as motivating my ***. I'm really considering doing the whole damn car now, I just have to save up some money for all the damn clear I would need. I'll put up more pics after i get the final coats on and rub it out.

    j,
good that you got to a motovating point. i need to get there. i seem to be spending money on **** and not doing any work. i guess i did spend the dat cleaning the trim i picked up yesterday. not really much of an accomplishment, but better than nothing i guess. kinda been takin a little break i guess. i need motovation. maybe goodguys will get me kicked back into high gear again. i've just been to busy being lazy and enjoying the last of our warm weather. hopfully i can get off my *** and make some progress before it turns cold. either that and the gods will smile on me and i'll find a garage.ha. man i wish you were bringing that thing to goodguys, but i understand the no money. i've been thinnking on just goin one day and not takin a car so i would have a little more cash to pic up a few things. guess i will have to decide in the next coupla days...ken....

if i end up being able to afford it, i wanna do it the same as the top but with a coat of Oriental Blue candy, or maybe the same color scheme but with some kinda watson style **** goin' on. If i can't do that it'll just be metallic blue... Ken you need to come to oakboro friday, there is a slight chance i could have the poncho there if things go smoothly.

  11. Very sweet! I can't wait to do mine. Keep us posted on the rest of the car.

yeah fat*** you do need to do that, I love doing this **** so I'd have fun doing yours too.. wetsanded some this morning and sprayed 4 more coats of clear on it, won't know until in the morning when I sand again if I got enough on it or not. I used a little over 3 quarts so far, almost a whole gallon, it will be a whole gallon if I have to put anymore on it but hopefully I'll get to use what i have left on the dash next week. I sprayed it with our old primer gun (with a 2.0 tip) since the gun i started with clogged, i just cleaned it up good and it sprayed it on without a hitch. I'll put up more pics when i get it all smoothed out.
