I have been reading on here for a while now but never introduced myself. I live in the Austin Texas area. I have a 1949 Dodge Coronet Coupe that was my grandmothers. I drove the car in high school as well as my sisters. I got it over two years ago from my dad. He has had it stored in his garage since probably sometime in the 80's. The carburetor had something wrong with it and my dad couldn’t figure it out so the car just sat since then. I have gone through pretty much everything on it now. Everything brake wise was toast. I sent the carb to a shop in Arizona that rebuilt it but broke the linkage attachment off of it. Bastard cost me a lot of worry and time with a local machine shop and a local restoration garage trying to find a way to fix it. Not so simple since it has the Gyromatic transmission. It’s different than all the ones with standard transmission. It took several tries but we finally got it. I have some answers to people’s mechanical questions about this car if I can be of any help. I also have some questions. [IMG]

Hello from Kansas City. First car I fell in love with was my grandmothers '62 Rambler Classic Six. Always wanted that car, but it wound up in the junk yard after my uncle got his hands on it. Glad yours has found it's self in better hands. Dave.
