After WAY to much time trying to get my 55 driving with the FITech fuel injection I gave up and installed a carb. That in itself took some time. Wire new fuel pump relay and fan control switch since FITech controlled those. So finally drove it around the area a bit other than just up and down my street. At the end of our street is a rather busy street and since the FITech would not return to less than 2000,1600 rpm after exceeding 2500 rpm I was not up for the busy street trial. Now it runs grate with the carb. Of course my neighbor pointed out that I have no brake lights, so one more deatil to deal with. There are still others, but man it was great to drive it finally. 55 first drive 1.jpg 55 first drive with carb 3.jpg

I keep going back and looking at the pics.......I really love that car. You nailed it. I'm not sure if I'll make the Goodguys fall show, got too much on my plate, but are you planning on taking this one to that show? lol, this one won't be too hard to spot. Mustang wheels?

The wheels are American Racing, probably won't do Ft Worth Rich. We are going to Cruising the Coast a couple of weeks later. Hope to drive the 55, so I may still be working bugs out.

Car turned out great! I hope to see it in person sometime in the near future since we are almost neighbors and all.

Oh, and since we are so close, you could come do the Hot Rod Hundred down in the OKC area the weekend you aren't going to Goodguys to put a few miles on it prior to going down to the coast. :D

Boy it seems like all the HRH's fall on weekends I can't go. That weekend is the Crown Victoria meet in Claremore and since it will be the only one I might ever attend, I plan on going. Did you ever meet the Higbees in Guthrie? They have been gone a few years now and live in Mid West City. They lived down in the old livery building.

Just now saw your reply and question. I did meet them when they were living there but never really got to know them. I had a shop just a couple blocks from where they were for about 16 years partly while they were there.

Yes, that is our start point and the end point is in Cache, OK at the Sonrise Teen Challenge ranch. We should have the route worked out after this weekend. Would love to have you.
