Was your all's cars your first restoration? Whenever I get one, it would be mine! I know I can do it though!
Sure you do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Restoration is a big part of the hobby. If you're new to the hobby, you may find bodywork to be a little beyond you at first, but it's an easily learned skill and once you start you'll be improving all your life. Lotta welding required in building a hot rod. One thing that will help is to go to a welding cl*** at night school. Start buying tools. The better a tool selection you have - including welder's, grinders, drill press and the like the better your fabricating skills will become.
There is quite a bit of stuff on the HAMB where we are talking about restoration of a period hot rod or custom. Personally, anything tasteful done before 1975 I would restore vs. personalize.
Never mind that first answer, he's new here and I've noticed he rarely has anything worth while to add. Anyway, we all gotta start somewhere, as far as you're question, no it's not my first, I started in the 60's and haven't learned my lesson yet. If you're reasonably good with tools (and own a few), have a little spare money, and LOTS of determination, you can do it. But just please only restore what needs restored (restoring is boring), then customize and or hot rod the rest, that's what we're really about here. Welcome to the HAMB, pay attention and learn.
it wasn't my first.. but the more u do the better u become.. just remember u learn from your mistakes and always be open minded to sugestions.. anybody that will tell u different probably isn't that good at it.. and as stated before... a good set of tools makes the job alot better
