Pre-reserve a Uhaul trailer you never know you might need it after walking the car corral. Also make sure your debit card has no daily withdraw limit. Look at the brightside when you bring it home she can't tell you to take it back.

Yep... cheapest food there is outside gate 1. 2 hot dogs and a soda for $3. Great deal.

I go every year to spring and fall carlisle and always go on Friday.

Be prepared for snow, rain, heat and miles of walking. It's always fun. Keep away from any of the "sausage" stands.

If you take a wagon, make sure you stop suddenly and often. Walk very slowly up and down the aisles. It's fun to watch the crowds trip over it. Also, if you buy something long, like a bumper, rest it on your shoulder and turn side to side, looking around, as you walk up the aisle. People love it when you do that. If you are there with a large group of guys, when ever you need to stop, always stop right in the middle of the aisle so you can clog it all up and make people walk around you. Also, you might want to leave the little kids at home, remember, crowded areas and elevators smell different to the little people, and the methane is flying freely at Carlisle!:)

  8. This was scary, remember when the police shot and killed the guy who had robbed the old couple the previous night. I do, as it happened two spaces up from me and the guy laid and baked in the sun until they processed the crime scene. Not everybody is wrapped too tight, that's why I try to have fun there and not piss anyone off, I also remember the accident, I may be wrong but I think somebody lost a trailer going up the hill last year. :(

I remember that incident. He killed the old man during the robbery and the police tracked him to Carlisle. He started throwing cylinder heads and other parts at the cops when they appraoached him, and they were forced to shoot him. Fortunately most stories from Carlisle are pleasant ones.

  11. Yes, the police were forced to shoot as he was throwing parts out of the back of the rental truck, and hit the policeman. You are right, most memories are good ones, over the years buying and selling I've made a lot of friends, and unfortunately some do not return. Hope the weather cooperates.:).

Well I survived another Carlisle. We got there at 7am and left at 7:30 pm. I could hardly walk up that last aisle. Scored some tools an parts, but i was a little disapointed I only seen one Caddy dual 4 barrel intake. Lots of Chevy parts my friend scored a chevy 4-speed for $150 and the gears inside were perfect. We found many 4 speeds with broken gears that the sellers sworn were in goog shape. take along a ,wrench to remove side covers to inspect before you buy, most sellers don't have tools with them "so they say". Intake manifolds are pricey for instance 216-235 Chevy 6 dual carb ranged from $200-875. Lotsa good stuff back on the hill and down by the turnpike , but you gotta look close. Well have a good time there ,walk slow and ask questions lots of the sellers are good guys to deal with.
