I am 19 and just starting my first hot rod build. I like the traditional style and am going to be building my ch***is using almost exclusively the Bishop/Tardel book; or at least that's the plan as of now. Does anyone know of any good threads/books/tech articles/etc. that might be helpful to me, particularly in the suspension/drivetrain area? Have been looking for a good guide to installing later gears into an early ford 3 speed. I have what I think is a 35 case that I would like to install 42-48 gears in. I am also currently working on making a CAD model of the frame and suspension, but don't currently have access to my frame and need help with measurements and pictures. Is anyone open to helping me with this?

You've already found the 2 best resources that I know of (Tardel's book and the HAMB).

I agree with Crease, you're already off to a Great start. Also, since you're probably gonna do alot of the car yourself, another pretty good website to 'dig' through is Second Chance Garage.
Reason being, each of us know our way 'around' a car. With that said, we all also have our specialties. So let's say you know drivetrains like the back of your hand, but have never padded a dashboard, this website gives you plenty of 'how to's' and 'where at's'.
There is also a great list on their SPECS page, it's where I found all the original specs for my 230 Flathead.

Remember, this isn't the 'know all, end all' of websites, but it's good to dig through when you may be scratchin your head on something or just need a fresh outlook.

Good luck and NEVER hesitate to ask these guys on here anything!
Search the forums too. Odds are, if you're wondering it, there is a 75% chance there is a thread on it.

    Cheers!

Go to some of the car shows or the crusies and look at the cars and get to know some of the guys who own them. Talk to them and ask alot of questions. Maybe join a club and see if some of the members can help you. They already have some experience at building a hotrod.....Then check out the tech articles here on the H.A.M.B. Good luck on you project.........

For frame measurements, go to Wescott's web site. They have quite a few good drawings with all measurements included.
