The push of shame! Last yellow hit the gas and whamo. busted throttle cable. Went linkage after that one.

I broke a throttle cable in the old race car, throttle pedal stop cured that.

Had and still has a stop on it. Cable was a nice straight shot, no weird angles, maybe a little flex in the stop, but it's pretty stout. Same track, same lane as my busted throttle cable deal, sitting at the line waiting patiently for some other poor dork who busted something!

Along with a tall intake and carb spacer the Lokar cable setup on mine was starting to wear a groove in the bulkhead fitting on the firewall. It would have failed sooner than later. Changed it out to a solid bar linkage that should last for decades.

Definitely better having full throttle at the top end!

Bad ass! Time for some real drag wheels & tires. That 60' is slow, but you're making up for it on the big end!

Slightly off topic but this is where stayed last night, kinda cool. It’s still an airfield but some of the buildings have been turned into a hotel. IMG_0702.jpeg IMG_0701.jpeg IMG_0703.jpeg IMG_0693.jpeg

Yep that’s him. Crashed a plane whilst doing aerobatics which were against standing orders. Eventually got permission to fly again just before the war. Always thought of him as one of those people that are a complete liability in peace time but you really want on your side when it goes tits up.

i believe he was shot down and lost his legs in the parachute the Germans respected him enough that they allowed a British plane to drop new legs into the pow prison

Possibly a mistake that, think he escaped twice and was eventually put in Colditz.

Was speaking to the guy with the green 55 Chevy, he’s had it for over 40 years. It’s was my favourite car there

  19. Can someone explain why the exhaust is facing halfways forward. Does the owner want to keep his paint in perfect condition ? Wat is the effect over the 1320 ?

  20. 12.74, really picked up with having full throttle, now you got to get that 60 foot down and you might have a 12.50 car.

As far as the exhaust pointed forward the only thing I can think of is for fender clearance.

  21. Love the Southeast Gassers decal on the 55. Look those guys up if you’re not familiar with them. I think you are now infected with the 1320 virus. I’ve had it for decades. No known cure. Can go into remission due to time, funding, etc. One whiff of race gas and it’s relapse time.
Love your Vette. Have fun, stay safe. IMG_1041.jpeg
