Guys, I'm looking for any and all information on Fish Wheels - these were very nice Halibrand lookalikes made before Eric Vaughn started Real Wheels. Any ads, catalogs, pics or detailed info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve
Tom Medley did the cool logo. I THINK! I also THINK they were advertised as late as the latter 80's when RnC came back? Maybe it was in Street Rodder instead? I don't know, I get confused easy, ask my friends.
You and me both Jim! Yeah, I recall some time in the early 80's (maybe) in R&C or Street Rodder but can't find anything concrete. Thanks, Steve
were these made by the fish guy with the bitchin street vette from the early 70's ....think his name was paris fish... brandon
I posted regarding Fish Wheels in the rare wheels post. I had a set on a 33 Plymouth Highboy Coupe and would really like to find another set (15 8"s and 15 4.5"s). There was a pair of fronts on EBAY not too long ago. I think all four of mine were stamped under number 100. Nice wheels, I would like to know the history.
Throughout the 70's my father showed total disregard for California child labor laws ... and made it my job to polish the magnesium (i.e., oxidized) American 5 spokes on the coupe ... but by the 80's, I was busy with my own car projects and college, so pop's bought a set of polished aluminum Fish rims ... the coupe has been running them ever since ... The fronts are 4”x15” and the rears are 8½"x15". I thought for sure that I had a FISH Enterprises brochure (or some other info on FISH Wheels) ... but all I've found (so far) is the sales receipt (from September 1981) and the UPS packing slip with the FISH ENT address (4426 Raymond Ave. La Crescenta, Ca 91214).
Nice coupe, great photo with the Behring building in the background. As a general rule I'm not into modern building design but that is one major excption, I'll have to research the design.
Well, did some digging through my Street Rodder mags from the 80's and found this in the Nov 82 issue (I removed the address to protect the innocent ) And the logo was drawn by Tom Medley. I'd still love to find a brochure with more detailed pics. Steve
Pete Chapouris' car was SO cool like that! I just RE-SAW a picture of it when it was black and just a white panel pinstripe, no flames, just, merely BAD. I was looking at my old PnJ book, it said the wheels were off his T. The T was super cool too. Who's FISH though(?)......
A couple of my Fish enterprise paraphernalia <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o: p>
Can you guys put a ballpark value on a set of these wheels ? !5"s X 8.5 & 4.5 in a Ford pattern and clean. edit : A friend has a set i'd like to buy.
Damn! And I thought it was mentionable that I found a receipt for headers for my '67 Camaro from 1987! I would not want to see the closet that receipt was in...lol
