on the way home from work I stopped at the slackers to help him put the windshield in. he had the glass in the frame and had glued the top seal in. he also put the seal around the out side. IMG_1974.JPG

I measured up for the latch and removed the lid again. I cut a slot and welded the latch on. next step is to make a hook to receive it. I also trimmed the middle cross member and made a new return. IMG_1983.JPG

I love those lights on top of the fenders...are they turn signals?...if yes is Charlie just doubling up on security as you only need one set...

the lights on the fenders are just running lights. the turns on the frame are vintage Harley.

I swopped out Charlie's tires. I had to be careful not to hurt the old tubes, the slacker wants to use them to mock up the next build. super moon rising in the back ground...and zoomed in. IMG_1986.JPG IMG_1989.JPG

made a little latch for the hasp. simple eye bolt, bent off set, double nutted with nylon washers against the box. IMG_2008.JPG IMG_2009.JPG IMG_2010.JPG IMG_2012.JPG

rotate the eyelet up and the hasp will slide over it. rotate it down to hold it in and/or put a pad lock on for security.

Would a TIG on either side of the eye be overkill?

You could also just Loctite the threads if you want to be able to break it back apart easily but not casually.

I took the new "box " and sub frame out and welded up the flange I had made for it to finish and strengthen the back edge of the middle crossmember. IMG_2023.JPG IMG_2024.JPG IMG_2025.JPG
