Technical Fixing the Lowering Blocks?

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by HuskerNation, May 17, 2023.

  1. I truly appreciate you bringing this to my attention, I will definitely mention this at my next Dr's appointment. Sad to say though, I may not have caught it early enough to be treatable at this point in my life. Thank you for stating the obvious to the oblivious ... :). Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to ride my stationary bike around the block :D

    I'm wondering if those blocks sit more vertical when the weight of the car is sitting on the tires.

    That does fall right in the middle of the "we did things back then that won't fly now" category though.

    Angle cutting or using shims on blocks that tall is not going to going to allow the U-bolts to come squarely through the the bottom plate, which means the nuts won't tighten on a full contact, square, flat surface.

    I chuckled a bit about your last sentence, although correct, seems I never had a flat, or walked out to a flat tire in the driveway, unless I was either on my way to someplace I needed to be at.
    They never seemed to happen to me when it was “no big deal” ;

    Ya, and after you fix that mess you can start own physic channel. You don't need to read the comments to find the real ignorance, just look at those pictures. That's all.
