28 years ago, I went to see an old guy who was fixing up a 1938 Ford pickup. He showed me the bed for it but it was the wrong bed. It was for a 1934. I gave him a 38 bed and got his 34 bed which had been sitting out in the weather. Its been sitting out in the weather for 28 years now and is still mostly painted. Later I got a real bad cab for a 34, no doors. The cab is junk. Really junk. Later I got a 1932 Ford cab.Its rotten too. The floor had rotted out of both cabs but the 32 has doors. These are so bad that the skin is separating from the inner panel but I am happy to have them. The bottom of the doors are rotted off too. So far none of this cost anything. I hoped to get a frame and then I could start ***embly because I have axles, wheels and engines. I had a chance to buy front fenders so I did. $300. A few years go by and recently I bought a 1934 ch***is. The 1934 engine runs and it came with front fenders and grille for a p***enger car. The frame is rotten. I paid $1000 for new frame side rails. Things are serious now but I am still not out much money. I will start rebuilding the frame with the new parts soon but right now I am fabricating a new floor for the cab. The floor is 4 pieces and I did the most difficult piece first. Did I mention that cab is rotten junk and the floor is gone? I do have part of the rotten floor and have begun making a new floor. This is the piece at the back of the cab. Its a close copy and I added a 1"x2" for added strength because I want to incorporate a roll bar in the door jamb. I've started the side pieces for the floor and will add a picture of those when finished. Heres the rotten rear part of the floor for my pattern.
