Congratulations Flap, I wish I would have been there. The car looks great just like you wanted it. Larry
Thanks for all the positive comments!! I am really happy the car has gone together the way it has. Lots of hours and lots of help, I would be another 6 months without the help. Here is another Jim Madigan shot, he is at all the races
I love the fact that you built a stick car with three pedals. I fell in love with my '55 again when I pulled the TH350 and put in a M-22. IMHO-way too many automatic trannies in race cars! Long live the 4spd!!
Hey brother.....good seeing you and the big bad 55 at St.Thomas on the weekend......hope to have you down with the Chevy to the E.L.T.A. Party this Aug. 11.......from where I was standing at the track on Sat.....it really looked and sounded nasty.
End of June at St. Thomas for the tracks 50th celebrations......we'll be there with the rail.....the "Pipe Layer".....should be a great time.
Congrats man and pulling the wheels too...awesome ! Make sure and put the Gold Cup on your schedule, lots of ONDR fellas coming. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=705183&highlight=gold+cup .
Tranny was out this week, it had a leak, all fixed and back in. Going to St Thomas for the 50th anniversary weekend. Should be a blast. Going to try and step it up a notch this weekend, we will see if she holds together!! Pagan gold tint going in today too Flap
Car looks Great Man! Like Swade41 said, You should try to bring it out to the Gold Cup this year! i wanna see it in person! haha It's a great event in WNY and a lot of ONDR guys come out for it. Hope to see you there.
Hey brother......good seeing you down at the St. Thomas 50th......the 55 looked great and it certainly was working well.......congrats on the wins.
dammit, back in the 70s and early 80s i had 5 of them 55s.bought 3 of them for 1500.each and drove them home. not today! i have the fever again because of this thread.we bought another 55 210 body a few days ago.i know i cant get ours together as fast as you did but we are shooting for, before i die.lol its really for my 28 yr.old son. he loves the 55s. so here we go. straight axle, bigblock, radious wheel wells and a 4 sp.his plns are to build this for a gasser class under nhra rules for 64. we will see. good luck on yours man you got a hell of a car!!!
I am glad you have the fever again!! When it is coming together and near the end you want to finish it up even more. The minute mine fired up, I couldn't wait to get it to the track. It is a blast!! Keep the build posted, it gives you inspiration to keep going
WOW! Those shots are awesome!!! The gold accents accent the satin black beautifully. This is the first time satin black has looked unique in a very long time (but the car would look great in gloss black some day too!) Nice work.
Broke the car pretty good at Grand Bend. Bent the brackets for the ladder bars, bent the shocks, blew the drive shaft out of it. But it still was a BLAST!! Ran a 10.8 on Saturday at 122.8 mph. I will post pics of the damage, and hopefully come up with a new plan
