Tuck, Heard you drove this to the pile up and back with no problems. That is really cool. In the product manufacturing realm they talk about chances for error (more parts, more stuff, more potential for problems). You have proven less is more. Once your rollin with a basic car there is not that much to go wrong. Funny side note.....I have been on a few road trips with un-tested cars (not all hot rods) One was when I was in High School and Steve was in college. I was readying a 66 Cadillac for him to take on spring break. The day before he was to leave it was leaking anti-freeze in the crank case. He asked if my newly purchased (literally just bought it) $85 72 Galaxie would make it South Padre. I said only if I could come with. I figured the starter only needed to work about 20 times, strapped two spares to the roof, brought with 12 quarts of oil. Mom got me out of high school and I was off with three college girls and 2 other guys. 12 quarts got us down there (had to buy 12 more to get back) and we needed both spares but the car ran really good. Glad to see Steve has been an inspiration. I feel like the energy he lost was not really lost, but "transferred" to people like yourself (you seem to have a lot of energy), myself and many others to live a little more and enjoy the moment. That's really cool Eric
I was damn glad to see Tuck drive his hot rod, he was having a blast, Jen had a fun time riding in it for the last leg of the trip from delafield to morris. to bad we had to head back to minnesota saturday after the show, it seems as though we missed a ton of funny ****! but the merc made it on the 900 mile trip with the only problem of a self widening white wall at speeds below 55 mph! and it was the first real shake down run for my merc too. ***us
Thanks Tuck, my roadster is sitting in my shed minus motor and its about 2 weeks from our first show. loved the sound of the flatty. I hope I manage to get mine back together for our second run. but thanks to the engine shop its not looking good. but that was pure inspiration.
