Just found this thread. Where have I been? Carl, great build, love the sound of that flattie. Can't wait for the blower version.

  11. Uh Buddy, the only time you will see the truck on a trailer is when it is broke and I can't fix it on the road!!

Hi, ive been following this thread for a while but have just joined the forum. Your car, and truck are great.

  14. Thanks for the comment Dave

Got back to work and haven't posted in a while, started her up today and checked the operation of our heat exchanger, and Damn if doesn't work! took over an hour to cool her down from 180/190 to under 100 just letting her sit and only 20 minutes using the heat exchanger, just love it when an idea comes to fruition and works..........................

    On to Eagle!!!!!!!

    on to test n tune...............

  18. I like the heat exchanger idea - might have to adapt the concept to the FlatCad.

  19. Yea Dale and Buddy I was pleastly surprised by the way it cooled considering it is just an ol Colman 10 gal cooler a Harbor frieght bilge pump and about 40' of 1/2 copper inside, and regular tap water in the cooler, no ice, so I think it will do for what I want as with the block being 1/2 filled with Block Roc there isn't much room for coolant and with the big bore she will heat up quickly. Getting her cooled between rounds was a worry for me.........
The only problem I'm having is finding some quick couplings that won't leak but that is solvable...............

It's a cool idea, Dale, and we have a heat exchanger, of sorts-I'll post details tonight!

Keep up the great woek, Carl!

    Carl,

Check out your local beer distributor for fittings for the heat exchanger. What you have is very similar to a jockey box used to dispense draft beer at large events.

  23. Better yet . . . make it cool the flathead AND deliver beer - now that would be a really cool invention!

    Dale

  24. Hummmmm really need to do the Beer thing sounds like a great idea..........

  25. Well today got a few more things done, got some good hydraulic quick couplings and man what a difference it made, no leaks at all. Plus got enough time on the cam to go ahead and pull the block off gaskets on the carbs and set up the three two's man does she sound great!!!!!
