Looking good Carl But what you know, I'm also about to order a belt Just spent a couple of hour's last night, figuring how to find the right length I use pulleys with 8mm pitch, and thought I could fit a 1440 belt. Drove by a friend, and guess what, he had a 1440 Tried it, but a little to short. Next belt size is 1520, and that too long! I guess I would try to get some other pulleys, now I use 44 on top and 67 on the bottom. I think the 1440 will fit with a 41-42 on top and 64-65 on the bottom. And of course, we turned down the pulleys 1/2 inch before testing!! K ................................ Taildragger&fenderless
Looks like Carls idler has alot of room for adjustment,,A flexable tape measure works good ,,, Tim Jones

Some MEN carry around their 'torque wrench' . . . others have to go buy them! It doesn't make me a bad person now does it???
Torque is measure in inches by how far your heels come off the ground when you pry that morning wood down to take that first piss!

Ah the first run of the new year, the anticipation, the adrenalin flowing, 3hrs to get there, 2hrs wait, finally fire her up pull to the line, stomp on the go pedal n .....what? Oh yes remind me to tell the crew to pull the carb plugs out before next run..........
Way to go Carl - looks like some real flathead fun! Congrats on getting out there this early in the season. You can come back here to Ohio - we are still 'Ice Racing' . . . or damn close to it! B&S
