Always like it when a plan comes to fruition. Helped a friend build this engine for his grandson and he finally got to fire it....... Go George!!!
Sounds good, Sir. We gotta do what we gotta do. Flamed my 'Toad wagon today as well. Needed to do the final tune on the SUs. Took'er 'round the block once she warmed up. Back in the driveway, doing a final diddle on the mixture when one of the local mothers pulled up and gave me a ration for speeding in the neighborhood. Wasn't speeding, never went over 25 ...... was turnin' the hides a wee bit in first though.
It used to be, "deny everything, demand proof, and always pay cash for the negatives". In today's digital age there is no where to hide. Just figure on being screwed!
yea Tom looks like more to be done, ug but like they say "the worst day racing is better then the best day working"....... fkn gremlins..............
Somewhere in the great cosmic (or was that comic) realization there is a formula for jetting that beast and making it run right. When you figure that out I'm sure I'll see the glow from your smile down here in So Cal!
well start of more changes, gonna toss the mag for a while made new dist and off we go again, try to eliminate as much shit as possible.......and of course don't have any good caps on hand so....off to Summit we go Ugggg However I did find a new motto for me.............or not........
Like you said bad days are up hill with no pedals, good days make you forget the climb. Go get em Carl!
Oh oh just received this in the mail from my Grandson's girlfriend, love ya Cassandra, it will find a special place to hang...................
God only knows what Carl has up his sleeve now . . . probably going to cast a new set of Flathead Muffler Bearings.
I know a guy here in NZ who cast his own aluminum FE block and eventually went 6 seconds in his dragster. Had no training or experience with casting metal before he started. He was a body guy years ago, but he is a tax accountant now! Builds everything himself.
Was he, or did he know, the kid that stopped by Bert's shed asking questions? Hot roding at it's best! Ed
There was no Kid in the real Burt world. That was a movie only addition. Obviously this guy comes from a similar mold as Burt. So many Kiwis do.
Makes me wanna build another dragster. Never had FED. Had rear engine SB2 and couple others 23 deg and BBC. Flathead dragster looks fun and lot work. Good job Carl.
