Hi , I am working on my 38 studebaker it is a commander. It is only 23,000 miles. I am doing a complete restore but I want to do a little with the motor. It is a 226 flat head 6. I am thinking of trying to put a VS57 supercharger off a 54 kaiser onto it. I am looking for missing parts on the VS57. I am also trying to find a two barrel manifold if there ever was one made and I am trying to find an aluminum head for it. The was some speed equipment made for the 6 in the 50s but I can not find any now. If any of you have any ideas I am open to ideas. I am not looking for speed. I want old school and cool looking. I am on a budget so I can't go crazy but open to ideas.

Thanks and I am not crazy. Old studes are cool.

I have two 37' Dictators. The engine is virtually identical to the 246" used up to 51'. These are easy to find, with the 3 speed and O/D for a song. I am putting one in my 2 door sedan. The only issue is the driveshaft "u-joints" which may need to get swapped or the rear end changed too (what I'm doing). Finding speed parts for these will be difficult, but parts are not that hard to make. Brand new heads can be purchased from Stude Parts Intnl. and milled some. A racing buddy could probably whip up some headers. That supercharger might look good, but a junkyard turbo would really make more of a difference. Check out the TurboStude site.
