I am in process of rebuilding a flattie. The machine shop just got back to me after sonic checking the stock 8ba block with a 3.312" bore it will leave me .075" of wall thickness, should I be concerned?
I am pretty sure that it was .075" @ the thinnest point not sure where that was but my machinist said they were pretty consistent, I have a 4.125 **** stroker crank
I would be happier if he said over .100 +/-" in the thinnest spot. I'm ***uming you still need to have it bored right? After a bore to true it up and current wall of .075" you may be running a little on the hot side.
