thanks, i was just a little worried that it was high and the reprint manual doesn't have pressure specs. for oil.
Is that cold oil psi? It will drop considerably when hot. What is the pressure when you rev it up? Overall, it would be high if that is the hot value, but too high is a lot less problem than too low. You probably just have tight bearing clearances and therefore a bit high pressure. It will probably develop a bit more clearance after it gets broken in and settle on a lower value. FYI K9: the engine you are thinking is the OHV engine, which came in 215 and 223 sizes. This engine is the earlier flathead. Your oikl pressure values are good guide though, even though the engine is a different model.
