Yep they are doing it here in Arizona too and I don't like them, they look funny to me. It will be intresting when the plate fades to where you can't see the numbers anymore. I've seen lots of stamped plates like that here but at least you can still see the numbers, sort of. I think I'll just find some YOM plates for my trucks!

  8. Yeah, well welcome to the HAMB. Telling everyone to Piss Off ought make you real welcome. And what exactly is "not shit"? maybe you should have read this first http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44274 especially the part where it says "Read This First" and done an intro.
Fuck, this is mild compared to the way it used to be, where folks were too scared to even sign up for the first year or so of browsing.

  10. Ya, Nebraska has had them for the last couple of years and they look funky as hell. So I got the orignal 32 plates and reg them on my deuces. Good part is you only have to run one (1) instead of front and rear in this state. Plus it is a one time shot of 80.00 bucks and you are good to go for as long as you own the car.

My last set of Tennessee plates were flat as are my new set of Washington ones. On my on topic cars I run YOM plates. They (like the car I bolted them to) Still have class. Unlike the silly lookin flat ones on my Ot worktruck

  12. I'll bet that, as in Oklahoma, your new flat tags have a bar code printed somewhere along the perimeter. Our Tax Commission (DMV version) told a state Senator that that code was "for inventory", when in reality, it is a bar code for LE-types to scan your plate electronically for a variety of likely nefarious reasons. Never mind, they can't just READ six big-ass characters on the plate! My solution to that little bar code? Run a plate frame, or just take a Sharpie and line through it. If they can't simply read those six big numbers and letters, tough!

Plus, the fact that our tags in OK look like a damn five-year-old created them, doesn't help. Oklahoma has never had an attractive license plate. Ever.

  13. just had to get new personal plates for my OT car, and they were not the stamped ones I had received in past years. Luck we can YOM here in Washington on our vintage vehicles. The turn around on getting my replacement plates was faster. stamping die's get old..
