Anyone know where I might find the old flat style center caps for slotted mags? I remember seeing them back in the 60's and 70's, but never sure if guys made them up, or bought them? They're the type that were flat metal with 5 tabs to screw to the existing holes:
Some American Racing wheels have a nearly flat center cap that screws on in that manner. You might try their website under accessories Ray
I have a brand new never mounted set of American center caps engraved with salt flat special that will fit those wheels. I'll ship them to you for $50. They are about 1 3/8" high. They are really very nice caps. PM me at bkollar44060@msn.com
Someone on here can sell you a set.. The same guy that makes carb adaptors.. I forget his name.. DOH! You might want to do a search on here...
Google is your friend Well theres these: http://shop.wheelacc.com/torq-thrust-flat-center-cap-p4978.aspx?utm_medium=cse&utm_source=googlebase Or theres these, which I have on my 65 : http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCatalog/images/Wheels/B-1130-GT-T.gif The second ones arent cheap, but I tried making my own and it just wasnt worth it
Take a coned one that will fit your wheel to a good sheet metal shop. They can trace it and cut you new flat ones with a laser. It's not that expensive.
i had a set of flat centers meant for torque thrusts on a set of slots, they worked fine, got them thru american racing about 3 yrs ago, they might still sell them
I think what would look best on that wheel for a gasser look is the full flat plate that is held on by the lug nuts. E/T sells them. Heres a link, you'll need to scroll down. http://www.royrezentesdesign.com/cl...esign/staging3/caps_flatplates.html#flatplate
