They are to change to the narrow front axle and then install the aero body pieces. Buddy will then drive the car in the Competition Coupe class. This should be a faster combination.

I got this information early today and they may have made a pass by now.

    Congrats, Buddy;

Will be interesting to see what the Aero will add. :) .

    & you're doing it w/o the air bottle(s). :D .

Good luck, godspeed. Hope for more, even just past two bills.

Buddy just called and he said that he went 186 mph. That qualifies him for a new record and they are going to impound. The engine is not running cleanly and he think it has more in it. He said the car went straight without any problems. Congratulations to the crew.

Congrats to the Flatcad Crew 186.081 on a 185.111 XXO/BFCC Record

  11. He went 167 then backed it up with a 186? Is it possible you got some numbers swapped???
Awesome to know they got a record!

    No they went...

    167.509 on the XXO\BFAL0t class

    186.081 on a XXO/BFCC class

Seems they altered the car for a different class run. I don't think they are listing the backup runs.

    Congrats to the FlatCad crew!

So, was this what it ran with fenders? or did they just stand on it harder with the fenderless version?

I wish I was there to see it run.

I believe the 186 was with the fenders.

They are running in competition coupe class. The earlier runs were in Altered class. They now have all the bodywork on the car. The car is in impound and ready for the back up run in the morning.

So your body work is worth almost 20mph, that must make you proud....

    Nice job boys.

  20. To clarify what John posted. the Alt class was open front wheel. The Comp Coupe uses Johns front end streamlining. Which BTW John, looks killer!

  21. how do they get the extra 14 mph to get the famed 200 mph club

    However they can !!!!!

  23. You do NOT just get into the 2 club by going 200. There are minimums, many above what you would think. Talk to the 200 Club for details.

If they set the record in their class at 200 they are in the club aren't they Trent? only 14 more MPH.........

  25. No, the 200MPH Club has minimums. Many are far above 200.

You are right for some classes but according to last years list, there is no minimum listed for XXO/BFCC so resetting the record over 200 mph in that class would do it.

  30. Yes, that is why I mentioned checking with the 2 club. Racers get tired of folks spouting off "I want to go 200 and get a red hat" when it is not that easy. That was not aimed at Carl, just a general statement to try and set the record straight.
